Arrival in Jolly Harbour Antigua

Had
a great three week trip up from Grenada to Antigua.
We left St Georges to travel up to Carriacou where we were able to witness first hand the aftermath of the hurricane last June, we also had a fabulous dinner at the Beach Club on Paradise Beach. The following day we stopped at Anse La Roche for lunch at Tims Beach Bar another spot highly recommended for grilled lobster, after Lunch we headed over for an anchorage on Union Island.
From Union we headed up to Bequia which was an all day sail and stayed overnight before heading off past St Vincent direct to Marigot Bay St Lucia one of my favourite stop overs. From their a quick hop to Rodney Bay where we had decided to stop for a few days R&R.
We
hopped up the islands after the weekend, Martinique, Dominca and
Guardeloupe which were uneventful except our day excursion in
Dominica to see the interior and the Trafalgar waterfalls.
From the Southern tip of Guardeloupe we decided to make for Falmouth Harbour only to find we arrived in the middle of Antigia Sailing week so spent our time entering the harbour dodging racing yachts!
The following day we sailed around to Jolly Harbour which again is one of my favourite spots, very well sheltered the staff are really friendly and accommodating and I was happy to leave the boat there, but not after a few of Sandra's famous painkiller cocktails on the beach.
The
boat will now stay here for a few weeks and my return is scheduled
for the 21 April for my next leg up to St Martin for the start of
Arc Europe.
