Today has been a steady day with constant winds around 15 knots and making 6-7 knots headway, we even managed to get Henrietta the self-steering hydrovane to work this afternoon well for about three hours. She’s normally a royal pain in the arse to get to follow a course so this was a breath of fresh air.

Today was also official shower day as I had run the hot water heater first thing with the generator, always feels much better after a shower.

Managed some good sleep during the night and five hours off between watches really helps.

I was on cooking duty today and worked up a chicken and leek dish with white wine which went down well with the crew after usual evening G&Ts watching the sun go down.

Just downloaded the rally crew chat so see advice from Chris Parker the weather guru to stay sou south of 33 degree which is a little late as we are already at 35 degrees north so have altered course to avid going further North but expect we will maintain same latitude. Think is his concern is the low pressure system coming in behind us that will overtake us and provide for some pretty bumpy conditions!

Now 1,250 left to go so not far off a third of the way there.
