Day 2 has been uneventful; the highlight was a team shower although one at a time and not all together! It feels cooler as we move north which is a pleasant feeling after the oppressive daytime heat of the cabin.

After 48 hours we have managed nearly 390 miles which is great progress but as I tap away the wind has dropped to just 10 knots. So out with the trade wind sail which we have doubled up on one side which has given us an extra knot over the headsail.

We are now making 6-7 knots as the afternoon ends and looking at the forecast looks like the wind will weaken further as we approach Bermuda and then return for the final day approach so we still expect to arrive Thursday evening or early Friday morning.

We tried fishing during the day but with no luck all we were catching was a load of seaweed so abandoned this awaiting better conditions, although one of the crews did post a huge tuna that they caught overnight, very jealous and even wondered about posting one of my old previously caught fish photos just so we didn’t seem left out.

We have been lucky with squalls, touch wood! It always seems to be on my early morning watch that the rain arrives. There is little traffic to observe out here except the other fleet boats on the horizon although we have had little contact.

Positions today show us as 11th overall and 6th in class so happy with that although as I always say “we are not racing!”
