Ahoy Shipmates

Looking back at my blog, I realised there are some huge holes as the last entry was in Guadeloupe before heading up to Jolly Harbour in Antigua in January last year.
Since then, hung out for a while in Antigua before heading back down to Grenada for the hurricane season and haul out on the south coast of Grenada with Grenada Marine in April 2024. Little did I know at the time that Hurricane Beryl would head straight through Grenada in June and flatten Carriacou, the neighbouring island. fortunately, the yard escaped without any incidents.
Bringing us back up to date I had a short four-day maintenance trip out to Grenada in December 24 before returning to get Mojo ship shape again and ready for re-launching on 29th January 25.
All successful with the usual issues, with any boats there are always a few teething issues when you get ready for the season but nothing that couldn't be either sorted or worked around. Among the main issues were the air conditioning pump springing a leak, the water system on board not feeding water through to the taps and the transom hydraulics not working properly.
I spent one night at the yard on my own before Mark arrived Thursday night to join me and help with jobs, Friday morning we got the sails up despite far more wind than was safe for this task! I fixed the transom by removing and cleaning all the electrical connections and the guys in the yard managed to source a new AC water pump and fitted this on Friday afternoon.
So all ready for sea, we set off at 7am from the Yard to head round the corner to St Georges and a stay in the marina there to provision up and get ready for our trip north to Antigua. So here we now are having restocked and just working out our next moves which look like being a couple of days in Carriacou, which will be interesting to assess the recovery from the hurricane and then onto Union Island before heading up to St Lucia for next weekend. The following week we will continue up past Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe before halting in Jolly Harbour.
The plan this year is the big return leg via St Martin, Bermuda, Azores and Portugal arriving back at the end of June
Weather here in Grenada is mixed very hot but regular squalls and rain
Will try and keep up regular updates but not promising daily!
