Day 29,
A few numbers for you on this - hopefully - last full
day of sailing before we make landfall in the Marquesas! We have covered 3.971
nautical miles in 30 days since we left La Playita marina in Panama City.
That is definitely the longest both time and distance wise any of us
have ever done in one singe journey.
To recap on the numbers:
Week 1: 638 nautical miles, 74h 30 min under
engine, which is about 45% of the time.
Week 2: 809 nautical miles, 12h under
engine
Week 3: 991 nautical miles, 3h 15 min under
engine
Week 4: 1180 nautical miles, 4h 50 min under
engine
The last 2 days: 1202 nautical miles, 0h under
engine
(aye, there is 5 miles missing there somewhere. Can't
find them right now. Blaming it ion sleep-depravation and fatigue
;D)
In a straight line we currently have 106 nautical miles
to go.
Can't quite see land yet but can smell the cold beer!
And note the use of the noun in the singular. We have actually forgot to
buy beers for arrival. That has got to be a first.....
