So where is Niue? And what is it?
It is an island nation, self governing state in
association with New Zealand, and has around 1500 people living there - more in
New Zealand. It is also part of the Commonwealth.
It is a rocky island and has caves that we will hope to
explore.
We have booked a mooring buoy with Niue Yacht Club - NYC
- and looking very much forward to visiting!
Hoping to sail the last 340-ish nautical miles
as tradewinds are due back. Going through a trough right now, a remarkably
dry one (so far ;DD). It has been scorching hot and sunny today so a bit of
drizzle would be welcome. Oh! and also to wash the last of the boobie bird mess
off....Despite Nicolas best efforts with the Boobie-scare torch (previously
known as "the search light") last night, it must have quietly flown in and sat
there all night. Had to physically drag it off the bimini 3 times this
morning at very first light before it gave up! They have a peculiar voice
;DD
All is well. And clean!
