Day 0,
So 24 hours later we are near Punta Mala (great name -
wish I hadn't actually checked...) - anyways, life is not bad right now. Steady
sailing, slightly underpowered - did have a long baptism by fire type
of afternoon and night yesterday so taking it easy and catching up on
sleep. Had expected motoring for a couple of days looking at the forecast
but instead we were nose into 18-20 knots of wind. Needless to say a few things
ended up on the floor haha. The first day or two is alway the hadrest until you
get into the rythm.
So pleasantly surprised as the sailing is great! A
lovely breeze F3-5. Seen turtles, fishingboats, making sure to stay away
from the traffic separations zones for ships going in and out of the Canal. A
bit of a timberyard out here - floating logs and guadua which can luckily be
spotted at day - and at night as well - as all sorts of seabirds roost on
them! Very useful.
Will make it short as have sleep that need catching up
on!
