Hello again
Last night was extremly beautiful!
Well the whole day was. Bur when the moon came up on the
velvet night sky it was undescribeble!
We where watching a film in the cockpit before Kalle went to
bed and there wasn´t a single gust of wind all night so it was very
calm.
Then when he went a sleep I was sitting watching the stars and
the moon and the water was as still as in a mountain lake reflecting the moon
and the stars.
Wow!
Around three o´clock there was a sudden gust and I was running
around to set all the sails and once I was ready (heavy work to do alone on
a big boat like this) the gust was gone again. All in vain! hahaha
:-D
But good training it is learning to handle the boat
alone.
If anything should happen or any other imagineble
situation.
During the night we came in under Isle of White and The Solet.
Classical sailing waters and the very first ground for sailraces with plesure
yachts in the later part of the 19th century.
On Isle of White you can also find The Royal Brittish Sailing
Academy!
Today is yet another beautiful day on the south coast of
England and we are making slow, but still, progress towards the sound between
Dover-Calais. wich is the most narrow place in the English chanel.
But there is still another 90NM to go before entering that
part.
Some pictures.
First we have the beautiful flagg of the Azores. Nine stars,
each for one island in the archipelago of the Azores.
Then a picture of the chart showing the english chanel. We are
right now just southeast of Isle of White.
Wich you can see, maby, on the next picture?
We missed to change picture on our Bahamian Beer (Kalik)
calendar. This is miss June! (hahaha)
Look at the next one and tell me if you are suprised that they
drop a container every now and then in heavy weather?
I´m not !
Lot´s of these buggers here in the chanel.
:-/
This picture was taken yesterday evening. Nice isn´t
it?
And the last one for today is a picture of the fast ferry
(20 knots) to Le Havre on the French coast.
Very fast and very close, hm....... !
Good that it isn´t fog anyway.
I hope that you have it as nice as Kalle and I are having it
and that you take care of eachother too.
Our best to you all !
