Another sunny day in paradise ( well Moret-sur-Loing). After a late and leisurely breakfast in the cockpit we sat and finished off making the canvas bimini to give us some shade. Then the long walk up to the railway station in the heat and caught the 11:50hrs train to Nemours. Yet another beautiful medieval town boasting a large castle and church facing the canal. Sat out at a kerbside café and had paninis and a cold drink at lunch time and watched the world go by. Then when the castle opened at 14:00hrs we went for a guided tour, which was all in French and Maureen quickly gave up translating to her omni-lingual husband, so we wandered off on our own. Not much to see, a lot of renovations still to do. Walked back to the station and caught the train back. I must say that the trains are very different from the British ones. For the most part all the carriages are double decked and run at high speed. None of this slowing down when travelling through stations we nearly had a heart attack the first time one went through at well over a hundred miles an hour when we were standing on the platform! Back in Moret-sur-Loing we stopped off in the supermarket and bought more provisions and more importantly, sun hats! Walking back through the town we queued for over a quarter of an hour for an ice cream. Then back to the boat.
