We walked into the town of Chatillon-Coligny and wandered around the extensive street market. Very, very French, viz: the meat stalls had things for sale I had never seen before. Checking closely I think you could re-assemble complete animals from what was for sale. They clearly do not believe in wasting anything ! Ugh! The live animal stall was also a bit disturbing, lots of ducks, chicks, rabbits and geese all rammed into very small cages. In the UK the RSPCA would be down on them like a ton of bricks. While in town we ran into the Canadians, Dave and Lori. Maureen invited them to dinner on Seascape ( she is a glutton for punishment!). They accepted, so another go round the supermarket was called for, for extra supplies. We then returned to the boat and while the chef started on dinner preparations, I cycled 5 kilometres (all up hill, never mind it’ll help lose some inches round my waist) to the local garage and picked up 6 litres of Gazoil (diesel). After lunch we walked the planned route round the old town. Quite interesting, some of the buildings dating back to 13th century. In the evening, the dinner party went extremely well, with beer, gin and tonics, followed by three bottles of wine consumed. Good job no one had to drive home afterwards.
