Arrived in Portosin yesterday late afternoon. The weather forecast for yesterday had been for winds from West, or East. As we were heading South i expect you can guess where it actually came from. Good old Yanmars. I’ve now been motor sailing since leaving Poole, and I’m really looking forward to being able to use the white clothy flappy things properly.

 

But we knew that there was some “proper weather” coming through, so wanted to get round Finisterre before the big blow. Its not a place to be when there's a bit too much of the stuff. And it duly arrived last night, but we were snugged up in a very nice marina here in Portosin which is in the Ria de Muros, a delightful place. I saw 30 knots of wind early this morning, and we are pretty sheltered.

 

Today its still precipitating, or as Jayne said “the wettest drizzle in the world”

 

So today is a “work on the boat and see if the marina tumble dryer works” day.

 

But also a day to catch up on some reading. I’m currently well into an exciting book by an internationally acclaimed author, who happens to be on board. (here’s the shameless advertising plug).
