This is the second part of the previous webdiary. I find that
for some reason when sending using my GSM phone in GPRS mode it will not in
practice send more than a certain amount. If I resorted to Iridium
then I could only send a couple of pictures.

The Pentacost river crossing is usually the first bit of the
road to be
closed when 'the wet' arrives. For us it was only about
a foot to
eighteen inches deep. Nevertheless it is a meeting
place for travellers.

El Questro in the middle ground at 0630hrs after our hour
of
climbing to the hill top above our camp which is down to the
right of
the picture. The river runs through the line of
trees.

A Brolga, a local type of Crane. This picture was
taken
by me at 0615hrs from our tent at El Questro.
Perhaps I should explain that for three reasons all travellers
here get up early. Firstly it is light at about 0515.
Secondly we all go to bed very early, about nine o'clock, due to the early
onset of darkness at about six o'clock. Thirdly the temperature and
light are at their best early in the morning. We often have completed a
couple of hours walking and have had breakfast by nine am.
