We departed Kenny’s mooring early and waited on the fuel pontoon to open. With fuel and water onboard we departed in an increasing NE wind, rain and fog! Once we were past the fairway buoy, we turned off the engine and sailed in 21knots of NE wind with full main and half the headsail out. In fact, we had a lovely sail and completed the 45nm trip to the Cape Cod Canal in five and a half hours. The entrance of the canal was rather lumpy with confused seas and once into the canal we ended up going round and round in circles waiting for the Training Ship (TS) Kennedy to manoeuvre into her dock in the canal. The rest of the trip was undertaken by engine and eventually anchored in Wings Neck, Buzzard Bay and Martin and Elizabeth, Caduceus, came onboard for a curry. |
