The wind has dropped to 9-14 kts and veered to the east which means it’s
right up our chuff at the moment; not the easiest angle to sail in a sloppy
sea.
Anyway, enough of the usual sailing stuff for todays update.
Team Toots continue to be in a reflective mood as the end of the trip is
starting to feel within reach..........and like... ‘just round the next
corner’.
We have enough booze on board to make the England Rugby Team feel at home
after their World Cup Tour. Yet none of us has felt the urge to even look
at a can of amber nectar or a bottle of Scotland’s finest malt.
Conclusion, if you are beginning to think you may have a drink problem don’t
bother going to a clinic, or the AA, just go sail an ocean.
Also, forget dieting. Even those of us on board who have been eating
normally since the start have lost weight. Average weight loss is about
2kg and one crew member, no names but the one who doesn’t live in Plymouth, has
probably lost more than 4kg. Ursula, if you are reading this, your little
bro is starting to look quite hot.
It’s nearly Tea and Cake time once again – oh, maybe not cake......no cake
left.....and it’s way too hot to bake.
Todays music: Sting – ‘The Tale of the Blue Turtle’ – again full blast as
we continue west and start our 11th day on starboard tack. (Oh dear, Sting,
perhaps we’re showing our age here?)
And finally, how on earth (or should that be ocean?) did the likes of
Columbus, Vasco de Gama et al cope without their ipods?
All well from Team Toots
(PS – Just re-read the above; perhaps we have been at sea too long?)
