Course 210 Speed 4.5kts
No blog yesterday, too rough and too wet as we were
beating into 20kts of wind with big, confused seas and that's no fun in a
small boat. The decks were awash and we got regular seas into the
cockpit. Then overnight, we had to fight our way round the
traffic separation scheme at Ushant for which we could only just make the
course.
Things are better this morning, still 15-20 kts but the
seas have settled and we are free of the traffic separation scheme so we can
ease sheets and chose a course that suits the boat. More or less matching
the route we planned from Falmouth.
Bit of sunshine and all's well on Fettler.
We had "the usual" dolphin escort out of Falmouth and
have seen a couple of gannets but otherwise it's a desert out here at present -
and too rough for time in the cockpit to spot things worth
reporting.
