Weather routing

You may have noticed that the weather is rubbish and the forecast for the week is "unsettled".  This is a problem for those of us who move around fairly slowly in small boats and want to go a long way, because the unsettled weather is coming from where we want to go.

In a move that is completely out of character for Jez he has paid a professional weather router to come up with a plan to get us where we want to go which makes the best use of the weather patterns.  (let's not mention it again because Jez is still smarting at the loss of his hard earned £50 ! (even though it's better than his own plan of pushing off and hoping for devine intervention (thanks for that mum))).  That route is summarised in the picture below and by 2 key phrases from the routing plan.  The first is "get west where you can" and the second is "go tomorrow or there is no sensible weather window until next Saturday".  We are going early tomorrow!

It's nothing like the route we planned and we'll let you know how it goes.

On the plus side, from Saturday onwards it should be plane sailing as we pick up a tail wind.
