The penultimate leg

                | Tuesday 10th August 2013Transferred the deck fuel to the tanks before leaving at mid-day. Blue sky, flat sea, no wind so we motor for 7 hours to Puerto Oropesa del Mar (40:04.50N, 000:08.001E), a nice little harbour. Thunderstorm breaks out as we tie up! Tomorrow is the final
push. It has taken nearly 3 months to sail Evelyn B from the Hamble to Sant
Carles, with a couple of breaks in between. The whole task has been bigger and
more challenging than originally anticipated. We have two cans of well travelled
Speckled Hen still on board (Falmouth purchased), and a strange collection of
Portuguese biscuits and Sardine pastes. We have a new crew member, who joined us
in Gibraltar, Master Driftwood Marlinspike, a Macaque monkey, who hangs from the
vegetable hammock next to Captain Crabby, who's piercing cry "Pieces of
Aubergine" can be heard more than three leagues away.
