Back to Spain
Tuesday 20th August 2013Fly back to Faro from Gatwick, to be met by Frank (Taxi Driver) who drove us back to Ayamonte and kept us entertained in Spanglish all the way. Arriving at 21:00 we immediately went in to town for Dinner. I found Frank whilst
waiting at Gatwick. We spoke Spanglish and Frank was there at Faro to greet us.
Brave man! Frank and I talked at each other all the way to Ayamonte and I can
honestly say that the dysfunctional conversation was very interesting,
especially his joke about the grandmother and the donkey. I laughed so much it
was embarrassing! Wednesday 21st August 2013Spent all day unpacking and preparing Evelyn B for sea. Spring tides at mid-day left us 0.5m in the Mud! Another riveting day of
stowage. Stowage is next to Godliness! Those who pay no attention to stowage
will reap their rewards in a sock drawer in Heaven! Thursday 22nd August 2013Up very early (05:00) to catch the tide down the river, crossing the bar at 07:30 as dawn broke. A couple of hours motor-sailing in a F5 northerly until the wind died and we motored the 80 miles to Puerto Sherry ( 36:34.85N, 006:15.35W ), just outside Cadiz. Seemed unable to get high gear on the Gori prop and the engine ran hot, a couple more things to sort out!
