Leave Nazere in overcast, and a continuing SW ghost of a wind. Just outside the harbour entrance we lose all drive from the engine!  Emergency sails-up to give us power leaves us knackered!

Once we are under control investigation shows the drive train flange disconnected at the back of the gearbox, three bolts found loose in the engine bilge, along with the sheared remains of another. Captain then spends a couple of sweaty hours upside down in the bilges reconnecting using the three remaining bolts, and we motor gently on to Peniche (39:21.11N, 009:22.59W).

We wander the streets looking for a Chandler - with success - a replacement for the broken bolt is obtained, along with some super-glue (no Loctite available) to make sure the b... bolts don't fall out again.  Captain then repeats yesterday's entertainment down the bilges, including drilling out the remaining part of the sheared off bolt. Oh Joy, Oh Rapture, all is fixed - until next time.
