We make our way further west to Boca Chica, a coastal town with a marina
and anchorage behind a natural reef which allows us calm waters with a good
breeze. As you can see the blue waters and the marina area are lovely.
Chaser and Waylander tied up along side the dock, here
too the price was US$1.10 a ft per day but included electric ,water and
wifi.
Every port in DR requires you to check in with
customs and immigration, it doesn't cost each time but it can be a hassle. This
time the two Captains had to get a cab to the customs office to collect our
departure papers. Raul, the Harbour Master arranged the taxi. Not, quite what we
expected, and the two girls soon informed us who were 'Captains' this time. Tony
was waiting for the other'Taxi' to come along for him before being told this was
for us both. Well, Sharon, managed to get a couple of photos of course while
Chris and Yvonne were laying in the road laughing, and laughing, and
laughing!. In fact we could still hear them laughing when we got to the customs
office. What made matters worse was the papers weren't ready and we had to
return later that afternoon, by 'Taxi' we survived but next time we'll
walk!
We had two nights in Boca Chica before moving on
west towards our destination of Cuba.
