1st june
Its the start of our summer cruise and the first
leg is the Royal Escape Race to Fecamp in france. To commerate the flight of
King Charles 1st from Cromwell.
We join the start for 7am and after one hour manage
to cross the line! Oh for some wind.
By 9am the wind decides to get up out of bed and we
are making good progress. We hear from the faster boats that they have met a
windless pocket up ahead and cannot use their engines. We elect for a motor sail
classification and use the engine for 2 hours. We arrive 5.30am after 22.22
hours. Not bad for our class.
However after being selected for a boat we are
disqualified for not having full regulations in place. Bah especially as we are
placed second in our class.
Ah well we are on a cruise and the french
hospitality is fantastic as andy will vouch for!
