Newtown River
After 4 weeks away it seems rather strange mooring
up in the Solent. But here we with over 1000 miles completed.
It can only happen in the Solent. To enter Newtown
one needs to line up the transits to avoid sandbanks each side. No problem with
this except theres a motor launch anchored EXACTLY in line with the
transit!
As we pass Andy calls out that hes blocking the
transit line. So sorry he says and continues to sip his glass of
wine.
It must have put me off as i motored through the
entrance on the wrong side of the green marker bouys. Fortunately it was a flood
tide well on the rise so plenty of depth.
A pleasant stay before we move onto
Cowes.
