Yesterday,we were already very happy with the idea to be ahead of schedule and arrive at 18:30 local time.
Entering the "Passe du Marin" narrow channel approaching the final destination. We were sailing till the last possible stretch when we started the engine . First impression,
quite a lot of lobster nets set by fishermen. We slalom between what we can and avoid the obstacles. When rolling the genua in, we started to give some gas to the engine, but
surprisingly, no power coming!!!
We came to the conclusion that the propeller was tight with ropes of the fishermen's gear. But in fact it had gone a little bit further than that, the shaft of the propeller
was pulled out of the coupling!
Decision had to be quickly taken and we continue at a very low speed to enter the narrow channel and find a safe anchorage area. At 21:00 the anchor was dropped and we were
happy to bring the dinghy in the water and fix the outboard engine to join Alexia waiting for us on the pontoon.
Because a problem does not occur alone, the outboard engine decided not to start!!! grrrr
After 30 minutes patience the motor started and could join Alexia, drink some Ti'punch and enjoy a great meal.
This morning, outboard engine did not wanted to star again and forced us to hich hike another dinghy passing by so that Bernard could take his flight on time to St Barth and
join Ina. After a few dives and some repairs, the shaft is fixed again, and Mare has joined her berth .
Sweet Martinique, we enjoy the perfumes of rhum...
Quote of the day: Il ne faut jamais vendre la peau de l'ours avant de l'avoir tué.
Pictures will follow later, we are now taking care of the boat.
