Wednesday was a disappiontment as sun never made it out and it was cloudy
all day, with a few showers thrown in for good measure. Although some good
sailing at times with southerly F3-4 helping us along at up to 7knts. The
wind became light and variable during the afternoon, although a squall
coming through, livened things up for a time. A great shepherds pie was
rustled up by Dave and John in the Galley. As darkness fell, the sky to the
north was lit up by an electrical storm for a couple of hours. So we decided
to head south to avoid it, Rich (The Skipper) even stood watch in the rain
(apparently), although the night was clear and the stars amazing for the
rest of the crews watches, did he jump in the shower we are wondering?? as
the night fades, we are in sight of the Italian coast some 20miles from the
Messina strait.
