The 5th May 2011, 0200 UT, location lat/lon 21:24:03N 058:28:00W or somewhere plus a bit further than yesterday, in the Atlantic Ocean, 4. day.

In my eagerness to finish the daily update yesterday I managed to mix up the days since we left the 2nd. May we have been under-way the past 4 days.

Further Ottie was more than man of the hour, he shined by freeing the rudder from a 4 meter long manilla rope, thick as an man underarm, the rope had somehow wrapped itself round the rudder, only a small part was perturbing astern, looking like kelp. Ottie fitted with bathing trunks and lifewest was ready, hanging over the transom to release the rope. He managed to get the rope without going into "the drink" and we could continue on our merry way.

But that is not all, George and Des was 'fishing' yesterday, no sooner had they fed the line out with hook and lure, before they had hooked a Dorado or as Des put it "It came across the stern, leaped out of the water and snapped up the lure in free flight", must have been a sight for sour eyes.

As the picture show it was some fish, Des and Dan spend the next hour cleaning and filleting the unfortunately fish, the end result was about 3.5 Kg of fillet fish.

Ottie being 'mother of the day' had the honour of marinating and preparing the spoils for the rest of us with a bit of help from Des, whatever they did to the creature from the deep, worked, seldom have I had such a fresh and tasty fish. I wonder if we can repeat the success.

During his daily inspection of the boat Dan (the skipper of this little excursion), found the Genoa is coming apart in the seams, as luck goes we do have a spare headsail with us, now it is only a question of timing, not too many bumps on the water and not too hot, one has to be careful getting too much sun.

Alas dear reader, I have to end today's essay, the helm is calling me ...

again.

We wish you all fair winds
