The 4th May 2011, location lat/lon 20:11:46N 060:02:73W or somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, 2. day under way, the boat crew is slowly getting their sea-legs, sleep is becoming more like normal not coma toasted, the everyday stress factor is leaving us, we the chosen few, we band of brothers, the ocean and the wind that is all that matters. At 0330 (local time) we turned the engine off, ending a 17 hours motoring. The odd thing is I awoke as soon as the engine was turned off, something was amiss. It interrupted a nice long sleep one of the perks being mother of the day. Everyone survived my gastronomic attempts of being a chef, some of the chaps even asked for seconds; if that isn't a compliment I don't know what is!

This morning at about the same time as the engine was turned off, the wind picked up and up and ... we furled away a bit of head-sail, then the main-sail, but no sooner done, when the wind died away, spending the next 3 hours unfurling, furling, reefing and blowing out reefs, this place is turning into a work farm. To complicate matters further is the man whom control the wind machine, could not make up his mind from which direction we should have the wind, resulting in wind jumping up to 60° and a few unplanned "heave to", all good fun, one learn quit fast to locate the "Standby" button on the Auto pilot, to save the situation becoming embarrassing.

Yesterday we had a 'who know the most knots' session, books were brought out and Ottie ran off with the title "The man of the hour".

Enough for now, got a date with a helm.

May you all, have fair winds and following seas
