It is like Christmas Eve here today, as tomorrow sees our Halfway Day celebrations! Although we have in fact done just over half already in terms of both time (we hope!!) and distance. Wine, beer and chocolates placed in the fridge today in preparation. Let's hope they're still there after tonight's nightwatches....

Overcast and humid today, with a few drops of rain, but not enough to get the shampoo out. We have been managing a good 6 to 7 knots which has been reassuring. Slight engine trouble this morning (just when the wind died completely) but engineer Robin saved the day as usual. Very glad to have him aboard!

Dorado was served up with pasta for lunch, and Neil now preparing a sausage casserole. We've been eating really well so far but it'll be the tinned food from now on, and with our gas levels as low as they are it could well be cold tinned food for the last week...

Finished my watch last night to find a sign saying 'Valhalla' pinned on my cabin door, the crew acknowledging the location of the drugs (first aid kit!), alcohol and cabin girl. The remaining cabins have now been appropriately named!

A yacht has just been spotted on the horizon and heading in this direction. First bit of company we've had in at least a couple of days. Lee, painfully worried about the tea rationing, is now watching them through the binos to see if they have any gas bottles... desperate times!

Wind has just died again, but dinner about to be served, so not all bad!

Love to all,
Ninky x
