The beady eyed reader will have noticed that we didn't go to Martinique this weekend. As it is technically "abroad" from St Lucia and 20 miles away it was too much fuss and bother to go so we didn't.... Instead we went to Marigot Bay yesterday and today we didn't get very far at all. The process of winding down from travelling 3000 miles in 2 weeks is hitting us head on and today we chilled.

We managed a walk to the chandlers were we saw a huge lure, bigger than any fish we've ever caught. I've included a photo with Alex's head for scale so that you can see just how big it is (the lure that is). Then we went for breakfast even though it was nearly lunch time. Hugo restocked the Sprite supplies on the way back and I was struck by the vast sea of masts and ARC flags that now fill the marina, just 8 boats from the 200 strong fleet yet to arrive. Next we were off to the beach in the dinghy and Alex couldn't find a palm tree and the dinghy kept getting picked up by waves and floating off. The sky filled with squall clouds and we willed the rain to fall. We had a beer and ice cream on the way back and everybody apart from me cooked and cleared up supper. The sun has gone down, I'm going back up top to drink wine with the Skipper. Paradise found.........
