Barbuda.... picture postcard perfection and, previously unknown to us, the centre of haute cuisine courtesy of Chef Nathalie. So far, we have enjoyed "the best cheesecake ever", "the best tuna wrap, ever", "the most amazing orange crepes....ever" ... I think you are getting the picture. And Herb liked the pasta !

So, feeling healthy, sun -bronzed, occasionally drenched by the sudden tropical showers and inspired by those Jacques Cousteau programmes I used to watch as a kid, we dived off to try the mega bowl. This is the huge donut pulled by the tender at great speed, not the three bowls of cereal Herbie had for breakfast. Of course the kids loved it, but not as much as the grown-ups!

Jasmine and Herb are now fully qualified waternauts, masters of the snorkel, mega bowl and kayak, they seem to want to live in the water. But, we finally made a land fall, going for a quick walk along the conch-strewn beach. The sand is so fine coming straight from the reef and beautifully offset by the turquoise waters...... the colour you see in all those brochures from the Caribbean.

Haute cuisine finally met Jacques Cousteau when Bill went off to get some petrol and came back with four live lobsters which Nathalie turned into the latest five-star culinary experience. Suddenly cloning seems a good idea, every boat should have a Bill and a Nathalie!
