Finally we are sailing. The wind we have been trying to reach finally started to move to the North east giving us a better angle to get the engine off and sail.

We raised the Yankee at 0300 local time and with this, the staysail and trysail we are averaging 11 knots straight down the rhum line, and under 2000nm to go a couple of mile stones ticked off.

The engineers were happy to have the engine off as the hourly engine room checks are less noisy and getting slightly cooler. And all of us were happy to be sailing, purely for the enjoyment and also for the better motion.

For now it looks as though the wind should hold for 26 hours, and then we will have to motorsail again. As we have not used as much fuel as predicted due to motorsailing, we maybe have enough to motor all the way. Not how we want it, however there is not much wind out there for the second half.
