We've arrived !!

The sun was coming up and we all put on our team shirts. To our delight we were arriving neck and neck with Tranquilizer ( we had slowed down of course and passed over some essential cigarettes to Rich and Robin ).

The twin peaks of Pigeon island were now visible and we made contact with ARC control informing that we were about to arrive.

Then in the distance we saw a small motor boat heading straight towards us both. After a few minutes we could make out Neil Di and Katie franticly  waving and photographing our arrival. They had hired Levi and his Reggae boat to come out and great us in true Caribbean style. The reggae bass beat was booming out over the water creating the perfect Caribbean atmosphere.

As we crossed over the official finish line we were congratulated by the ARC team for  completing  our Transat. We then motored through the narrow entrance into Rodney Bay Marina. It was 0630 hours local time and all was perfectly quiet and peaceful that was until Levi lead our small procession to the pontoons accompanied by Bob Marley blasting out "Were Jamming" over his 1000 watt stereo system !!

We had arrived.

Then Ice cold Rum punches beer and bubbly were produced by Katie Neil and Di and consumed at a rapid rate. We were able to greet the other crew and share our stories of our fantastic adventure.

Massive thanks have to go to Dan our trusty skipper for our safe passage we logged a total 3026 nautical miles from Grand Canaria, also to Katie  Neil and Di from Sailionian for making it all happen. The ARC organisation was superb and last but not least our crew on the brilliant Bavaria Phoebe B for our safe arrival.
