Well here we are, after months of anticipation, Dave, Jan and Azzy have arrived on the good ship Ven.....”Oboe D’Amore” for 8 days of paradise under the guidance of skipper Nigel.

This is a sort of a home coming for me, (Dave), not to Grenada, which is where we are, but to the Dufour 485 which is the 2nd yacht I have sold to Nigel and which with the 1st boat, a Dufour 455 has been instrumental in bonding together our friendship.  After several years in the sailing industry, 2 of my most enjoyable and successful was when I was responsible for the Portway Team selling Dufours from the Hayling Northney Office.

After an uneventful and on schedule flight out to Port Salines Airport we were whisked to the Port Louis Marina to meet Nigel in the BAR!....

After beers and rum punches and watching the Arsenal – Barca Champions League match, we meandered to the boat, settled in, showered and booked somewhere for our evening meal.

The Museum Tapas in town was a solid choice.  We had a private table, superb food and wine and an excellent chef/host.  We will return there later to celebrate Dawn’s 50th next week.  Dawn is sharing the week with us on board, but has already been on board for the last week as well.

To round the evening off after us “adults” had staggered to bed, Azzy and 1st mate, Ryan, went back to the Marina Bar till they were thrown out, Ryan introducing Azzy to the delights of “Limonchelo” and Flaming Sambuca.  The latter singed his chin fluff, causing him to spill it over Ryan.....That gave us the biggest laugh over breakfast the next morning.

Now we are up and showered, just  about to victual and cast off on our adventures heading North towards Bequia.
