It’s  Sunday evening and excitement is mounting here on Oboe. E arly tomorrow we are due to leave Nevis, where we have been weather bound

for almost a week.  No complaints from us though, Nevis is a beautiful island, similar to the Devon countryside, but with a somewhat huge volcano

right in the middle.  The locals are extremely friendly and helpful, with manners and charm to match the England of yesterday.

Following the departure of Mike, the four of us have been busy in separate ways. Marcus and Nigel have been keeping Oboe in top condition with work on general above deck equipment, whilst some fairly rigorous deep cleaning has shown us once again the delights of sweet smells!

James and Trev have been at play. Long beach walks, short stops at beach bars, sun bathing, swimming.  It’s the Lotus Life on Oboe.

Yesterday it was golf on the fantastic Four Seasons Hotel course, James finally prevailing in a fiercely fought contest.  The course is extremely

beautiful with amazing views, so many photographs were taken on Trev’s steam driven camera but disaster was nigh.

Our four intrepid voyagers met up at the ferry dock bar to plan the short dinghy trip back to Oboe.  The planning was prolonged for a couple of Rum Punches until finally the dinghy edged toward Oboe. Marcus almost played it smart by handing James his mobile to keep safe whilst he boarded Oboe with the line.  Good so far. Next man up missed his footing and described a graceful arc back into the dinghy. The two reclining incumbents were catapulted upward and outward into the beautiful Caribbean, taking with them four mobile phones and one ancient camera.  Hence no further messages to our nearest and dearest until replacements are obtained in Antigua, probably Tuesday.

All damage can be repaired. Marcus and Nigel have been busy trying to restore our technical systems.  James and Trev have been back

to the golf course to relive the glories of yesterday with a new camera.  So we’re all fine and really looking forward to a 4.30 a.m start tomorrow.

Once again, lots of love from all of us to all of you.

Trev.
