Snow white sails criss-crossing the azure Caribbean.  Louis Vuitton, Versace, Hugo Boss, Bulgari, Lacoste off  the port bow, super yachts by the score off the starboard bow, the “beautiful people” of the 1960’s on the horizon.  No credit crunch here.  It’s just another day at the office for the five lucky escapees on the luxury yacht Oboe D’Amore.

If you guessed that we are in St. Barthelemy  you would be spot on!  What a place, don’t miss it, book your berth on Oboe now.

That was Thursday, on Wednesday night Marcus and James our two apprentice/agile 18 year old carers prepared a fantastic cold buffet for themselves and the three members of the Saga cruising society retired following small nightcaps.  We had a fantastic sail from Nevis to Barts averaging 7 knots goosewinged down wind.  We arrived in good time and proceeded to beat up to the mooring after being refused permission to tie up with the mega yachts by some officious official.

Nigel however received an apology this morning and a promise of the best berth in the place if they manage to find the yacht we cut loose in a fit of pique!  So much for the Entente Cordiale!  However we did have a terrific meal to end a very eventful day in paradise.

Today we motored to St. Martin because the wind was having a rest day.  A fairly uneventful day punctuated by a mid ocean dip became a Red Letter day for a barracuda who didn’t leave a name before we let him go.  Poor eating barracuda - he might have poisoned us.  Instead of the barra Nigel is right now preparing one of his gourmet delights which is giving off superb aromas so I must sign off and dress for dinner.

We all send our Love and Best Wishes to you.
