After a 7 hour motor-sail we arrived in the Yacht Haven marina in northern Phuket. Met up with all our mates from the rally and caught up with everyone's stories. One boat had engine failure and had to be towed in and managed to scratch both sides of the hull as these long tails have virtually no steerage.

Moonshadow's main alternator presented us with a warning light when we started the engine to head for Phuket. We used the Oyster's "link" switch to connect the engine alternator to the house bank until we arrived in Phuket. David removed and dissasembled the Mastervolt 90 amp house alternator to learn that the stator and diodes had packed up. We searched for new parts, only to find that a new alternator was the only solution. About 480 Quid later, the new alternator and regulator both worked fine.

We organized and attended a splendid party for David's 65th birthday (Enchantress) and Glenda's [secret number] birthday (Lucy Alice) and for Moonshadow's leaving the rally. Boo Hoo. We bade everyone a sad but encouraging "farewell" as they head for "Pirate Alley" enroute to Crete and parts west to complete their two-year circumnavigation.
