We sailed to the Butang islands about 30 miles from Langkawi. We found it very pleasant with a lot of Long tail boats on the shore. We went ashore and walked along a dirt track through a very run down village which suddenly turned into a very lively hippie/backpacker type community with shops and bars and restaurants. We had a meal on the beach for about nothing. Great fun! What a hidden surprise.
