We left Kupang in a hurry when customs said we had to be out by first light
on Wednesday morning. All 22 boats were gone before 6:30 AM.

We sailed on the Timor Sea for two days and nights with wind from calm up to
27 knots from the port quarter. We planned our crossing at 5 knots to arrive
with favorable tides since they can get up to 9 knots in this area. David
caught a nice Wahoo on Thursday and cooked it for dinner on the George
Foreman electric grill - everyone loved the fish, rice and fresh green beans
with sweet corn. We ate around sunset and agreed we had the best seat in the
restaurant. The ever-present clouds on the horizon provide splendid sunrises
and sunsets as well as some moonrises that are wonderful.

The full moon is tommorrow and we had brilliant light last night when not in
rain showers.

We arrived in the bay and lowered the anchor at about 0800, a little earlier
than planned. The scenery here in Lehok Gingga bay on Rinca Island is quite
beautiful with hilly green low grass and palm trees scattered about.

At the 10 AM net, we heard that our customs issues will be sorted out by the
time we get to Bali and each yacht must pay $800 US to gain a guarantee from
an agent that we won't sell our yachts here.

Moonshadow will island hop from here to Bali. Sorry about not having photos
but we're using the satellite link.
