A
36 hour passage in improving weather brought us to Vava'u in the
Kingdom of Tonga. It is a varied & protected cruising area & we
have enjoyed some of its fine anchorages. We were entertained by local
villagers to a Tongan feast with mostly unrecognisable food served on
plates made of banana stems & the children danced for us. Yesterday
we went on an off road adventure Three hours of driving
down muddy tracks, through waist high grasses & along the cliffs of
the eastern shore. We arrived back at the anchorage covered in mud.
