We set sail for the Cook Islands on 25.05.08 in the afternoon with the prospect of a  four day sail before us. The ocean had  a glassy calm & we all felt sleepy & lethargic. The sunset was beautiful & promised another day of little wind & calm seas. On day three the weather changed & the wind blew, registering up to 52 knots on the nose. The seas were short & steep making for a rollercoaster ride & the adverse current reduced our progress by 12 miles a day. That night the sky was lit by a continuous electric storm so we put our spare GPS inside the microwave to protect it from being burnt to a cinder. We were pleased to arrive safely in Rarotonga.
