Water water everywhere...

One notable thing over the last couple of days has been the phosphorescent in the water. Although it is sparser than what we might be used to in European waters it is bigger. Even the squid down here like to glow! There was something morbidly nice about watching the floating chopped up lightshow of tentacles spurting out from underneath our propeller.

Talking of squid we found two on the deck yesterday. A present from a sea bird? A new breed of aviator squid?

The weather has been consistently above 30 degrees. We're very thankful to the sea breeze for providing us some solace from the sweltering heat. It will be interesting to see what it is like to be panting away on the heat of land with black sand beneath my feet. I have a feeling that I shall spend a lot of time in the water with a Bloody Mary/G&T/Tom Collins/Somesortofbeverage.

We have less than 24 hours until we should sight land. This is going to be a great feeling as we've spent an awful lot of time looking at bugger all. To break the ennui we have really stepped up the cleaning. The metal work is starting to shine like it's brand new. The wood is getting a healthy dose of saltwater scrubbing and all the tiny nooks and even tinier crannies are getting a good seeing to.
I think we're going to have to Rock Paper Scissors to see who fixes the heads. Though personally I think that should be the skipper's privilege.
