Current preparing Serica in Hampton, Virgina. The weather is slowing getting cooler as winter approaches, the days are getting shorter as the nights draw in. Bob and I are busy preparing Serica for the first leg of the passage, from Hampton to the Azores, a 2200 mile leg which should take between 15 to 20 days depending on the winds and weather.

We plan to update our blog on a daily basis, so family and friends can follow our progress. The current plan is to continue to prepare Serica and if the weather is right, leave for the Azores Tuesday morning (26th Oct).

The hurricane season seems to have finished, which has delayed our departure for the last four weeks. Other yachts in Hampton yacht club preparing for the journey to the Caribbean for the winter, a good sign that the weather is improving.
