Salute to Chilean Armada tall ship, Training vessel Esmeralda.

Yet another surprise. Chilean Armada Training Ship the Esmeralda, Three Hundred Feet long, Four Masts with three sloops and more canvas than a World Scout Jamboree Camp. A radio call to Esmeralda to wish her well. In reply she informs us her route heading to Puerto Williams and Rio, Brazil for the Bi-centenary Tall Ships Regatta. A joy to see such a magnificent ship sailing these majestic and spiritual mountain waters.

Radio Felix, the lighthouse watch on the south side of the Magellan asked us to confirm our ship details, position, course and next port of call.

Grey rain came down upon us, Peninsula of Cardova grew tall and then Playa Parda opened up to give us a way into the Patagonian door of rock. We had anchored here on the way up so chose to be more adventurous and twisted in to a tighter cut aptly called Chica. Like parking a car in the garage, only to find you can hardly open the doors. Four rope tie snug as a bug and almost able to  walk ashore.  53.18.70S  73.00.01W
