Hollinsclough - Is the World Round?
Wed 14 May 2008 12:04

Wednesday may 14th

By three in the morning we were at last back on the sails with a very soft SE, As the moon set on its part time shift we saw the lights of mount Pico, the Island of Fernando de Noromha was in sight. Sunrise around eight UTC. We closed in a strong west bound current to Jurasic park. A wicked set of false teeth reared up above the waves. A lush green landscape, wild yellow sand around the cove and a mighty rock outcrop like a Buda bowing to the East.

We dropped the anchor chain amongst a few local boats and two French yachts, 1303 miles out of Cape Verdi it was time for a cup of tea.
