Nice to hear some of my Retread
(motorcycle group) friends stopped down to Cape May, NJ to wish us luck.Sorry we missed you. We3 departed at 1110hrs.

Since leaving Cape May the mechanical / electrical gremlins appear to be well sated which is more than I can say for Mother Nature who must have had a bad hair day / week. We have had about 8 good hours of sailing since we left and many hours in poor visibility and of course hand steering all the way. The few hours using the self steering was wonderful (thankyou Hydrovane for a wonderful piece of equipment).

Last eve through 0500 this morning we were in horrendous storms with booming hunder and awesome lightning and then the wind. All canvas in and engine working to keep us right side up....phew!

It's not to bad now we're heading 120 degrees wind out of the west 2 reefs in and doing 4kts.in confused seas. Hoping to find the Gulf Stream in thge next 24 hours.
