Wow 2 weeks gone already. Just after I hit send yesterday all changed. The wind started out of the North and helped knock the swell down. So with 3 reefs in and the jib at 1/2 we were able to move along overnight at about 5kts.

1730 hrs.
The wind dropped out and we have been motoring for a while, but there is hope I see a breeze picking up out of the West.

Looking at GPS and plotter it looks like 1087mls to Horta 1066 is half way and we should do that tonight.

BTW (by the way) Melvin destroyed another cup he's so dainty.

The atomic glue repair to the stove failed at 2100 last eve. So with a few ropes we secured it til daylight. Today the glue  repair was replaced by a more secure self tapping screw and we are now back in business.

I got an e-mail reminding me of a quote from our Skipper "I'd never own a bloody boat in the Irish sea". Well yesterday I heard something I never thought I would hear on the Henry Wood.

The Old Man and the Sea

1745 hrs.

Back under sail at 41\2 knots in a very comfortable sea. I think the first this trip.
