Arrived Horta 1500 Sunday and we are what they call "rafted out" we are number 6 outboard of the one boat tied up at the dock. So we have to climb over 5 boats to get to the HW. Makes it all very interesting with a bag of laundry or  a case of beer.

We picked up some seniority and are now only the 3rd boat out.

It seems like there are 2 things you must do here in Horta, go to Pete's Bar and do a painting of your yacht on the pier.

Some of you in the States mentioned that there was another boat close to us out there in the middle of the Atlantic.

Well I got to meet a couple of the crew of the Adventuress.

That's British Virgin Islands to the
Isle of White (I know I spelt it wrong) sorry

I have 2 little friends back in NJ who I think will get
a kick out of the name of this boat.

I rented a car yesterday and took a tour of the island.
Melvin had stuff he wanted to do on the boat so I went off
alone.
I had hoped to walk the rim of the caldeira (the hole left by an
extinct volcano), but I gave up when clouds started to settle on the opposite rim.
A wise move I think as wandering around on one's own in the fog is not a good thing.

Today is one of the many religious holidays here so everything is closed.

The reason we are still here is a low pressure area is off to our west and heading here
perhaps Friday so we're waiting to see how things go and hoping for a Sat departure for Ireland.
