Hi all,

We pulled into Clarence bay, Ascension yesterday morning and were safely anchored by 10:30am. 2 other boats, Roar from Norway and Thomas also from Norway.

A very different place. Volcanic desolation around the perimeter with a lush, green mountain in the middle. Rented a car and drove around a bit - up the green mountain, down to English bay for a swim in beautiful blue, clear water amongst many fish. Supposed to be plenty of sharks, and attacks, around the island, so we have been keeping a beady eye open while in the dinghy or swimming.

Scott arrived this morning on the military plane from England and Chris flies out tomorrow on the same plane. We are planning on pulling out Wednesday morning to start the second half up to Gibraltar via Cape Verdes, Canaries and Madeira.

Bye for now.
