A quick note to say we arrived safely in Richards Bay at 5pm on Saturday, just as a mild cold front and attendant westerly winds hit the area.

The good news is that we arrived safely with nary a mishap, save for the asymmetrical halyard mentioned previously. No wearing of biminis like a hat, crew persons being lost, wrapped up in the genoa etc.

And most importantly, 24 hours ahead of the big low pressure system and heavy winds forecast to hit RB tomorrow evening.

My sincere thanks to Galatea's sterling crew, Wally and Ben, for helping to get her here safely and in one piece. Thanks guys, and thanks Irene and Lynn-Marie for allowing your guys join in on the trip.

We are all looking forward to the next 3 weeks when we will be visiting game reserves and other sights in the Richards Bay area.

But first, the rugby world cup final which is being played this evening. Good arrival time planning!!

Oh yes, and thanks to you all for following the Galatea trip through the mini blog.

Neil, ben and wally.
