Dear all,

It is Tuesday the 13th. We are now in Russian bay, about 20 miles south of Hell-Ville, Nosy Be. We will depart from here around 4pm tomorrow and make our way 200 miles south towards Baly Bay, south of Mahajunga. That will be our jumping off point for the 1100 mile crossing to Richards Bay.
We will begin that trip as soon as it appears that we have a suitable weather window, long enough to hopefully reach Richards Bay without stopping in at Mozambique. We will hopefully get into Richards Bay some time between the 25th and the 30th October.

It continues to be very pleasant here in Madagascar. Quiet, few boats, unpolluted and not too many canoeing locals to bother us at anchorage. Our 4 days in the Nosy Be area were very enjoyable. No hint of dinghy theft etc etc, no panga (machete) attacks, and friendly, helpful people, kind of like a bigger Vanuatu, but with not as developed a main town as Port Vila. Admittedly, we have not been to the main island which may be a different story.

We are all well, well fed and well rested.

The sailing continues to be good.

Ok, bye for now,

Neil, Bernie and Wally
