Nearing RB

S/V Galatea update

It is 4.40pm friday 10/30. We are about 190 miles out from Richards Bay, where we hope to make landfall around 7pm on Saturday.

We have had an uneventful run since our departure from Inhambane on Thursday morning at 5:15am. Not much wind, so we have had to motor the whole way with some assist from the Aghullas current which appears to be rather tame at these latitudes.

Apart from dumping (and subsequently retrieving) our asymmetrical spinnaker in the water yesterday after chafing through the halyard that holds the spinnaker to the top of the mast, all is well on Galatea.

Looking forward to RB.

Neil, ben and wally
